(MT Newswires) -- Chinese shares rose on a third day as investors remain optimistic over talks between China and the US that will be held this week.

Officials from both countries are expected to meet in Switzerland to mitigate trade tensions. The talks will be held from Friday, May 9, until May 12, Monday.

Moreover, Shenzhen Sunxing Light Alloys Materials closed 3.5% higher amid plans to set up a 500 million yuan partnership fund dedicated to its unit, Sunxing Light Alloy Materials (Luoyang).
