China Stocks Slip for Second Session

The Shanghai Composite fell 0.4% to below 3,370 while the Shenzhen Component lost 0.3% to 10,160 on Friday, with mainland stocks sliding for the second straight session as persistent concerns over US tariffs weighed on investor sentiment.
While the US has announced reduced tariffs on some Chinese goods, analysts cautioned that remaining levies continue to pressure key Chinese industries--particularly the auto sector, which exports vehicles and parts to the US. Additionally, Washington has reiterated its aim to reduce dependence on Chinese imports, signaling that trade tensions may linger despite ongoing negotiations.
Investors are now turning their attention to next week's economic data releases, including retail sales and industrial production, for further insight into the broader impact of trade headwinds.
Notable decliners included East Money (-1.1%), Yili Chuanning (-1.6%), Contemporary Amperex (-0.5%), Kweichow Moutai (-0.8%), and China Merchants Bank (-1.7%).
