The Nikkei Stock Average rises 3.3% to 50150.56 in early trade after Nvidia's strong earnings soothe investors' nerves.
With AI bubble fears growing over the last few weeks and putting pressure on tech stocks, the markets and tech stocks got a "pop the champagne moment" with Nvidia's robust earnings and guidance, Wedbush analysts say in a research note.
Among the best performers on the Japanese benchmark index, Renesas Electronics climbs 5.1%, JX Advanced Metals adds 4.9%, and Yaskawa Electric is 4.5% higher.
USD/JPY is at 156.92 compared with 157.15 late Wednesday in New York.
