28th September 2026 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 44 points higher at 24,554 and most recently gained 193 points, or 0.78 per cent, to 24,703, pausing a three-day losing streak. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 70 points, or 0.85 per cent, to 8,235, while the Hang Seng Tech Index slipped 12 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 4,299. Turnover stood at about HK$24.4 billion.
Technology shares were mixed. Tencent Holdings advanced 1.8 per cent, Alibaba Group edged down 0.1 per cent, Meituan rose 0.1 per cent, Xiaomi Corporation eased 0.3 per cent, JD.com gained 1.0 per cent and Kuaishou shed 0.4 per cent.
Financials underpinned the market. HSBC Holdings rose 1.0 per cent, AIA Group added 1.2 per cent, Ping An Insurance increased 0.6 per cent and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing was up 0.5 per cent.
