27th February 2026 - (Hong Kong) Hong Kong equities opened modestly higher on Friday, with the benchmark Hang Seng Index rising 66 points, or 0.25 per cent, to 26,447 in early trading.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index edged up 3 points, or 0.03 per cent, to 8,817, while the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 7 points, or 0.15 per cent, to 5,117.
Major technology stocks showed mixed performance. Tencent slipped 0.2 per cent, while Alibaba was flat. Meituan advanced 0.6 per cent, whereas Xiaomi fell 0.8 per cent. JD.com rose 0.9 per cent and Kuaishou traded unchanged.
Financial shares were broadly firmer. HSBC climbed 1.2 per cent, matching a 1.2 per cent gain in AIA. Ping An Insurance advanced 1.1 per cent, while Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing remained steady.
