Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 3.46%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC , which rose 13.44% or 137.80 points to trade at 1,163.20 at the close. Meanwhile, AK ALROSA PJSC added 11.43% or 2.20 points to end at 21.44 and Magnit PJSC was up 6.64% or 110.50 points to 1,775.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VK Company Ltd, which fell 1.64% or 2.35 points to trade at 140.55 at the close. Rosneft PJSC declined 0.97% or 3.15 points to end at 321.45 and OZON was down 0.83% or 24.00 points to 2,871.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 207 to 37 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 3.84% to 51.06.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.65% or 66.30 to $4,082.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.50% or 2.06 to hit $84.54 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.05 to trade at $91.52 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 78.56, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 89.35.
