Wall Street was little changed Wednesday, erasing an earlier climb after Minneapolis Fed President Kashkari said it's time to start slowly raising rates -- a reminder the hawkish voices haven't gone away even amid the recent rally.
- S&P 500 -0.2% after Tuesday's record close.
- Nasdaq -0.8% as Alphabet dragged following reports of senior AI talent departures.
- Stock in Asia were poised to ease.
Of 372 S&P 500 companies reporting so far, 87% have beaten EPS estimates. The US service sector also expanded at a steady pace, with business activity hitting a five-month high.

Iran's foreign ministry confirmed it agreed with Oman on the geopolitical coordinates for the proposed Hormuz shipping route -- a joint statement is under review, with a deal expected if third parties don't interfere. Trump called the talks "moving along very nicely." WTI held near $75 (-11% over the week's first three sessions), Brent at $79.
> Meanwhile, Houthi militants targeted a Saudi tanker in the Gulf of Aden and threatened further Red Sea attacks -- a reminder that even as the Hormuz track advances, the broader regional risk hasn't fully cleared.

Gold posted its biggest gain since February, jumping over +4% to ~$4,250 after breaking a key technical resistance level, as falling oil eased inflation concerns. Markets now price just one Fed hike by year-end, down from two a week ago.

The JCI rose +0.5% to 6,351, sitting right at the ascending triangle breakout line (6,365) after Indonesia's Q2 GDP print beat expectations.
- The economy grew 5.29% YoY -- slower than Q1's 5.61%, but well above the 5.1% consensus.
- Household consumption remained the core driver (+5.06%), gross fixed capital formation accelerated to 6.87%, and government spending jumped nearly 16% on the free meals program expansion and civil servant bonuses. Every sector grew except mining.
- Unemployment eased to 4.65% from 4.68%, the labor force grew to 155.1 million, and the poverty rate fell to 8.07% from 8.47% a year ago.
A genuinely resilient growth story given the backdrop -- an Iran war pressuring energy costs and commodity exports, alongside real investor scrutiny of policy direction and Indonesia's MSCI /rating status. The Finance Minister signaled more stimulus is coming on the back of this beat.

The government extended its Rp200 trillion ($11.2 billion) placement with state banks from year-end to July 2027 -- addressing the liquidity concern we flagged earlier.

Indonesia will postpone new income-tax collection from marketplace sellers (Tokopedia, Shopee, Lazada, Blibli) -- no timeline given, but the explicit rationale is giving consumer spending room to strengthen further.
o
