Investing - Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD, which rose 2.01% or 4.17 points to trade at 211.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV added 0.95% or 0.13 points to end at 13.79 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B was up 0.62% or 2.56 points to 418.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV, which fell 3.45% or 1.54 points to trade at 43.04 at the close. Grupo Mexico SAB De CV declined 3.18% or 7.02 points to end at 213.71 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV was down 2.92% or 28.67 points to 953.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 177 to 77 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.27% or 57.20 to $4,462.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.60% or 2.44 to hit $96.20 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.75 to trade at $97.15 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.09% to 17.34, while EUR/MXN rose 0.13% to 20.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 99.49. (AI)
