Investing - Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV, which rose 6.07% or 47.90 points to trade at 836.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple added 2.01% or 1.14 points to end at 57.92 and Grupo Mexico SAB De CV was up 1.95% or 4.26 points to 222.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso SAB De CV, which fell 5.67% or 8.69 points to trade at 144.62 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV declined 4.59% or 1.77 points to end at 36.76 and America Movil SAB de CV M was down 3.45% or 0.74 points to 20.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 134 to 97 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Mexico SAB De CV rose to all time highs; up 1.95% or 4.26 to 222.65.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 3.74% or 155.35 to $4,307.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.91% or 0.69 to hit $75.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.13 to trade at $79.57 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.16% to 17.24, while EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 19.91.
