Investing - Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico SAB De CV, which rose 4.34% or 8.71 points to trade at 209.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte added 3.23% or 5.82 points to end at 185.80 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV was up 2.44% or 0.33 points to 13.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings SAB De CV, which fell 3.92% or 2.51 points to trade at 61.50 at the close. Alsea SAB De CV declined 2.92% or 1.21 points to end at 40.19 and Becle SA was down 2.42% or 0.36 points to 14.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 118 to 105 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alsea SAB De CV fell to 52-week lows; down 2.92% or 1.21 to 40.19.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.65% or 66.30 to $4,082.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.50% or 2.06 to hit $84.54 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.20 to trade at $91.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.13% to 17.42, while EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 19.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 101.04. (AI)
