Investing - Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV, which rose 2.85% or 0.31 points to trade at 11.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Regional SAB de CV added 2.60% or 3.60 points to end at 141.83 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte was up 2.50% or 5.19 points to 212.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings SAB De CV, which fell 2.44% or 1.29 points to trade at 51.56 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV declined 2.05% or 0.27 points to end at 12.89 and Grupo Carso SAB De CV was down 1.39% or 1.94 points to 137.89.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 134 to 98 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.05% or 0.27 to 12.89.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.86% or 37.90 to $4,434.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.45% or 0.41 to hit $90.63 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.10 to trade at $95.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 16.98, while EUR/MXN rose 0.13% to 19.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 99.53. (AI)
