14th September 2026 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 104 points, or 0.42 per cent, lower at 24,701, marking a sixth straight session of declines. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index slipped 33 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 8,213, and the Hang Seng Tech Index eased 29 points, or 0.69 per cent, to 4,290.
Large technology counters were mixed at the open. Tencent Holdings fell 1 per cent, Alibaba Group dropped 1.8 per cent and Meituan weakened 1.2 per cent, while Xiaomi Corporation edged up 0.2 per cent and JD.com gained 0.6 per cent. Kuaishou retreated 0.9 per cent.
Financials were generally softer, with HSBC Holdings down 0.1 per cent, AIA Group off 0.3 per cent and Ping An Insurance losing 0.8 per cent. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing was unchanged.
Zhipu came under pressure after announcing a share placement alongside a bond issuance, with the stock down 5.6 per cent in early trade.
