Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 2.22% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia de Saneamento de Minas Gerais Copasa MG, which rose 13.34% or 7.06 points to trade at 54.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Minerva SA/Brazil added 2.29% or 0.08 points to end at 3.61 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA was up 1.95% or 0.79 points to 40.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azzas SA, which fell 8.48% or 1.61 points to trade at 17.40 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos declined 8.26% or 1.01 points to end at 11.11 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio was down 7.73% or 0.30 points to 3.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 647 to 324 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azzas SA fell to 5-year lows; down 8.48% or 1.61 to 17.40. Shares in Cosan SA Industria e Comercio fell to 5-year lows; down 7.73% or 0.30 to 3.58.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.53% to 30.44.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.17% or 52.75 to $4,467.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.66% or 2.49 to hit $96.25 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 2.53% or 6.55 to trade at $252.65.
USD/BRL was up 1.14% to 5.06, while EUR/BRL rose 0.88% to 5.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 99.50. (AI)
