Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Raia Drogasil SA, which rose 5.87% or 1.14 points to trade at 20.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Embraer SA added 2.76% or 2.50 points to end at 92.84 and Brava Energia SA was up 2.64% or 0.50 points to 19.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos, which fell 5.69% or 0.67 points to trade at 11.20 at the close. C A Modas SA declined 3.91% or 0.38 points to end at 9.33 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio was down 3.46% or 0.14 points to 3.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 472 to 465 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.13% to 27.25.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 3.72% or 154.30 to $4,306.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.91% or 0.69 to hit $75.08 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.57% or 1.75 to trade at $310.55.
USD/BRL was down 0.15% to 5.12, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.00% to 5.93.
