Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 3.05% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA, which rose 16.88% or 0.78 points to trade at 5.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA added 16.11% or 0.48 points to end at 3.43 and Azzas 2154 SA was up 11.28% or 1.70 points to 16.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio, which fell 4.53% or 0.18 points to trade at 3.82 at the close. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA declined 4.18% or 0.64 points to end at 14.68 and Totvs SA was down 0.71% or 0.25 points to 34.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 572 to 379 and 48 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.73% to 37.24 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.84% or 36.75 to $4,433.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.53% or 0.48 to hit $90.70 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.91% or 12.10 to trade at $297.35.
USD/BRL was down 1.22% to 5.09, while EUR/BRL fell 1.24% to 5.90.
