Investing - Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.31% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cvc Brasil ON, which rose 6.63% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.93 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA added 6.20% or 0.24 points to end at 4.11 and Localiza Rent a Car SA was up 4.07% or 1.85 points to 47.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tim Participacoes SA, which fell 1.72% or 0.42 points to trade at 23.98 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica declined 1.00% or 0.04 points to end at 3.96 and Prio SA down 0.80% or 0.30 points to 37.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 533 to 393 and 45 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
Shares in Localiza Rent a Car SA rose to 52-week highs; up 4.07% or 1.85 to 47.25.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.62% to 29.45.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.02% or 43.60 to $4,231.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.16% or 0.69 to hit $58.63 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.82% or 6.90 to trade at $372.80 .
USD/BRL was down 0.69% to 5.32, while EUR/BRL fell 0.37% to 6.20.
