Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 0.50%

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were C A Modas SA, which rose 7.06% or 0.81 points to trade at 12.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Cury Constrtutora e Incorporadora S added 6.89% or 2.03 points to end at 31.44 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional was up 6.86% or 0.43 points to 6.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tim Participacoes SA, which fell 7.88% or 2.09 points to trade at 24.70 at the close. Prio SA declined 4.26% or 2.96 points to end at 66.45 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA was down 3.77% or 2.02 points to 51.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 640 to 333 and 34 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.66% to 32.08.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.95% or 134.81 to $4,703.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 6.56% or 6.71 to hit $95.56 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 2.09% or 6.05 to trade at $283.70.
USD/BRL was up 0.11% to 4.91, while EUR/BRL rose 0.64% to 5.80.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 97.89. (AI)
